I am 17, and guys in my classes are bragging about having sex with other girls in the grade. I have not had sex yet, and I don’t know if it’s them or me that is normal. What is normal?

Thanks for your question. There is a national survey of high school students in the United States called the Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance Survey. According to high school students who participated in 2019 about half (50%) of 11^th and 12^th graders in the United States have ever had sex (one or more times). In other words, it’s totally normal to be 17 years old and not have had sex. It’s also totally normal to be 17 years old and have had sex.

Ultimately the decision whether or not to have sex is a personal decision that only you can make.
