Viagra is a powerful drug which increases blood flow to the penis so you can get and maintain an erection. The drug is highly effective, but as with most things, it can also cause some side effects which a person needs to be aware of.
Experiencing nose bleeds after taking Viagra could be attested to high blood pressure.
Health experts suggested nose bleeds could be linked to the effects of Viagra on the tissue in the nose.
The nasal passages contain erectile tissue.
This tissue can be irritated during sex and, according to doctors, explains why many people get “stuffy” during intercourse.
Viagra could also irritate the tissue and cause nose bleeds.

Some potential side effects of Viagra are headache and a runny or blocked nose, or a nosebleed.
Some men feel lightheaded or dizzy.
In rare cases, Viagra can cause fainting.
Some men taking PDE5 inhibitors report back or muscle pain.
Viagra is the most popular medication for erectile dysfunction, and is safe and effective for most men, said Dr Zenon Andreou from Superdrug.
He continued: “However, it can cause side effects for less than two percent of men who use it.
“These side effects usually aren’t serious and most go away after a few hours.
“If you’re worried about getting side effects from Viagra, we have a few tips for keeping your risk low and a doctor can help you find the right dose for you.”
Common side effects from Viagra can include:
- Shortness of breath or chest pain
- Change in vision or complete vision loss
- Ringing ears or complete loss of hearing
- Sudden body aches, pains and swelling
- Dizziness
- Flushing
- Seizures
- Painful or prolonged erections.
Uncommon side effects may include:
- Vomiting
- Skin rash
- Eye irritation
- Bloodshot or red eyes
- Eye pain
- Seeing flashes of light
- Thing looking brighter than normal
- Light sensitivity
- Watery eyes
- A pounding heartbeat
- Rapid heartbeat
- High blood pressure.
