It’s national eczema week – the seven days in the year when sufferers try to raise awareness for the skin condition.
And, one model has revealed that switching to a fruit and veg based diet cleared her eczema completely.
Like many with the dry, sore condition Paula Adamczyk developed eczema as a child.
She would manage her symptoms in the usual way – with antihistamines, steroid ointments and emollients.
In 2017, Paula, 22, felt that her eczema was getting worse – her skin began peeling away, leaving her with stinging wounds.

She said: “I have suffered from eczema since birth, with my stronger attacks being treated with antihistamines and steroid creams.
“Two years ago, my eczema attacks got worse.
"I tried taking hot showers to relieve the itching, but nothing seemed to work."
Paula continued: "The skin was dry and would flake off like snowflakes.
“My skin was literally everywhere and my sores would then scab over and ooze.”
Eczema is a skin disease which causes the skin to become inflamed, red, dry and itchy.
Most people grow out of childhood eczema by adulthood, but it can be difficult to manage for those who don't.
Paula said: "It felt like my body was burning and the smell was awful, like rotting flesh.”
The model, from Taunton, Somerset would stay in bed all day eating comfort food as she was in pain.
Paula added: “I didn't feel like doing anything so I just lay in bed for hours and cried because every movement hurt me.
“I was plunging into a deep depression which I drowned out with food."

So, she began to research other treatments.
Many blogs of people with eczema claimed that a fruit diet “cured” their eczema.
The young woman, originally from Poland, decided to try it and in 2018 she became a fruitarian.
Paula has dropped four stone since then, going from 13st 2lb to 9st 2lb.
She now eats salads and fruits like pineapple.
Paula commented: “I started reading and watching videos and gradually started to eliminate harmful products from my diet.
“I began with a vegan, gluten-free and sugar-free diet and then I got rid of mucus-producing food like oils, starches, potatoes and grains.
“Every morning I drink celery juice, which is the number one treatment for eczema."

Before her new diet, Paula was unable to pursue her modelling career, but now she has more energy than ever to do so.
She said: “I always wanted to become a model since I was a little girl, so it wasn’t a new dream, but having skin problems and being overweight meant that it wasn’t possible before.
“At first I noticed the increase in my energy levels. I am now active throughout the day without an unnecessary reliance on my bed.
“My mind has become clearer and my senses have sharpened.
“My nails have got stronger and instead of feeling depressed, I have faith in the future.”
The diet hasn’t always been easy though.
Paula added: “I have failed a few times to get to where I am now.
“There were times when I ate chips and drank beer and one time, I even went to my favourite restaurant and ate everything, including the prawns that I used to love.”
She added: “On a fruitarian diet you feel so much energy and happiness.”
