TytoCare, maker of an all-in-one modular device and platform for AI-powered telehealth, has expanded its integration within EHR giant Epic’s MyChart, enabling what the virtual care vendor describes as frictionless, asynchronous workflow.
The integrated workflow enables health systems to access TytoCare-generated data in a patient’s EHR and clinicians to access TytoCare exam data directly within Epic, as well as seamless remote patient monitoring, the company reported.
The new integration was developed as a result of a collaboration between TytoCare and the University of Miami Health System in June 2020. University of Miami student athletes and staff used TytoHome devices to capture vitals and share exam data with University of Miami Health System physicians.
If an athlete’s vitals were outside normal ranges, they were contacted to conduct an asynchronous TytoCare exam, requiring them to login to two apps – MyChart and the TytoCare app. The new integration allows users to login to just one app, MyChart, and use TytoCare’s “exam and share” feature.
With this new integration, all patients at healthcare organizations using both Epic and TytoCare will be able to log into the application and seamlessly transition into the TytoCare app. TytoCare is using APIs to post patient vitals directly into a patient’s EHR.
TytoCare also is leveraging messaging and notification capabilities to direct clinicians to launch the TytoCare exam viewer to review additional recorded exam media submitted by the patient such as audio, video and images.

Cloud-based telehealth for acute care
Royal Philips, a global health IT company, has introduced a new, cloud-based Philips HealthSuite solution intended to break down barriers across patient care in a scalable, cost-effective model. The new solution is called Philips Acute Care Telehealth.
Building on Philips’ decades-long expertise in tele-ICU solutions, Acute Care Telehealth provides a configurable and flexible solution to help health systems realize their virtual care and wider enterprise telehealth ambitions, the company said.

The solution’s scalability allows health systems to deploy Acute Care Telehealth in a centralized command center, or a decentralized model of telehealth dependent on their needs. By allowing customers to add additional hospitals, clinical units or beds, Acute Care Telehealth grows as each organization’s telehealth strategy evolves.
A modular approach offers flexible solutions and services to solve specific customer needs, making solutions easy to implement, install, maintain and use, the company contended. All solutions benefit from the same SaaS model, which can help to lower initial deployment costs and relieve ongoing IT resource strains, it added.

A new remote care management system
PatientPoint, a vendor of a patient engagement platform, has unveiled its new suite of remote care management solutions.
PatientPoint’s new remote care offerings include remote patient monitoring, telehealth and health checks, and are designed to help healthcare providers implement and optimize a personalized care program that extends beyond their office walls.

The company’s remote patient monitoring solution will take center stage at the August 11 HIMSS21 Lunch & Learn “Remote Patient Monitoring Done Right: Optimized Care for Optimized Reimbursement.” The panel discussion, presented in partnership with Remote Care Partners, will feature:
