Doctor says not to get flu jab at same time as covid vaccine
Covid vaccines are expected to start being rolled out later this week, with more than 50 hospital trusts already being lined up as potential vaccine hubs. Patients will be handed a Covid vaccine card, after they’ve received their first jab. Will it be mandatory to enter shops?
The new Covid cards will be a similar size to a debit or credit card.
It will include the patient’s name, the type of vaccine received, its batch number, and the date it was administered.
The card will crucially also give patients a date for their second dose of the vaccine.
It still hasn’t been confirmed whether the public will be required to carry around their Covid vaccine card, but ministers have hinted that it’s unlikely.

Will Covid vaccine cards be required to go in shops and restaurants?
The Government has suggested that it’s unlikely you’ll be required to carry around your Covid vaccine card.
Michael Gove, the Cabinet Office Secretary, personally dismissed the idea of a coronavirus passport for access to certain venues.
“No, that’s not being planned,” he told Sky News. “I certainly am not planning to introduce any vaccine passports and I don’t know anyone else in government who is.”

The Welsh health minister, Vaughan Gething, also agreed that the vaccine card isn’t required to move around the country.
The card will simply be used to remind patients to get their second dose of the vaccine, he said.
Gething said: “These will act as a reminder for a second dose and for the type of vaccine and it will also give information about how to report side effects.”
But, the UK’s health minister, Nadhim Zahawi, admitted that some venues may require a Covid vaccine card for entry.
Entertainment venues, restaurants and bars are likely to introduce a system of ‘no card, no entry’, he said.
Zahawi told BBC News: “I think you’ll probably find that restaurants and bars and cinemas and other venues, sports venues, will probably also use that system.”
More than 50 hospital vaccine hubs have been identified by the Government, ahead of the vaccine’s rollout.
Croydon University Hospital, in South London, was the first hub to unpack the new Covid vaccine on Sunday.
The first people in line to get the highly-anticipated coronavirus vaccine are those that live in a care home.
People over the age of 79 will be next in line, alongside front line health and social care workers.
The Covid vaccine is very safe, and is the most effective way to avoid becoming infected with coronavirus.
If you develop any signs or symptoms of coronavirus, you should get tested straight away.
